SPONSOR A CHILD
Afghan Relief’s One-to-One Orphan Sponsorship Project
One-to-One Orphan Sponsorship Project
Thousands of orphaned children in Afghanistan are growing up without consistent access to food, education, healthcare, or emotional support. Through our One-to-One Orphan Sponsorship Project, you can change one child’s life – personally and sustainably.
With a monthly sponsorship of $55, you are directly supporting one orphaned child, helping them grow with dignity, stability, and hope.
How One-to-One Sponsorship Works
This project pairs one sponsor with one orphaned child, ensuring focused, long-term care rather than short-term aid.
Your support provides monthly assistance tailored to the child’s most urgent needs.
While allowing them to remain within their family or community whenever possible.

$55 Monthly Sponsorship – Cost Allocation and Financial Oversight:
Each $55 monthly sponsorship is allocated in accordance with Afghan Relief’s program budgeting and child-protection guidelines to ensure appropriate use of funds, program accountability, and continuous monitoring of each child’s well-being.
The allocation includes:
- $13 allocated to education support, covering school fees (where applicable), learning materials, supplies, and uniforms.
- $25 allocated to food and basic needs, including monthly food assistance, seasonal clothing, and hygiene essentials.
- $10 allocated to healthcare support, covering routine medical checkups, basic treatment, and nutritional supplementation as needed.
- $5 allocated to a caseworker salary, prioritizing the employment of a woman in need, responsible for home visits, child well-being assessments, and documentation.
- $2 allocated to operational costs, including marketing, reporting, analysis, and account management.
In cases where a child is enrolled in a government school and no tuition fees are required, the portion of the sponsorship originally designated for school fees is reallocated to a pooled orphan support fund. This fund is used exclusively to cover emergency or exceptional needs, including medical surgeries and other critical expenses not covered under standard monthly sponsorship provisions, or to provide interim support if a donor discontinues sponsorship and the child has not yet been matched with another donor. All funds are tracked, reviewed, and reported in accordance with Afghan Relief’s internal financial controls and applicable audit standards.
