Fostering Mental Health and Child Well-being
A strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than a weak believer, while there is good in both.”’ Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)
Welcome to Afghan Relief’s Mental Health and Child Well-being Programs
Mental health is as important as physical well-being. At Afghan Relief, we’re deeply committed to nurturing the emotional and psychological well-being of children and adults in Afghanistan, helping them not just survive but thrive.
The Importance of Mental Health and Child Well-being: Some Statistics
**1 in 5 children** show signs of emotional and psychological distress in Afghanistan.
**Limited access to mental health services**, with fewer than 200 psychologists for the entire country.
**High levels of trauma and stress**, exacerbated by ongoing conflict and instability.
These statistics underscore the urgent need for mental health support in Afghanistan.
Why Mental Health and Child Well-being?
In line with the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who emphasized the balance of emotional, physical, and spiritual health, our programs aim to provide holistic well-being. Especially for children, early intervention can pave the way for a healthier and more fulfilling life.
