What is Fidyah?
When someone cannot fast in Ramadan and can’t make up the lost days afterwards (for example, because of a long-term health condition), they should pay Fidyah for someone else to be fed.
By offering Fidyah, you can ensure that your devotion to Allah remains unwavering, even in challenging circumstances.
What is Kaffarah?
Kaffarah is a charitable compensation made by Muslims for intentionally breaking any fasts during the holy month of Ramadan without a valid reason.
Contributing to Kaffarah allows you to make amends for your mistakes and move forward with a purified heart.
What Is The Difference Between Kaffarah And Fidyah?
Kaffarah is a penalty for intentionally breaking a fast during Ramadan without a valid reason. The correction involves fasting for 60 consecutive days or feeding 60 needy individuals.
Meanwhile, Fidyah is a compensation for missed fasts for valid reasons, like illness or travel, when fasting cannot be made up later. Here, you provide a meal to one needy person for each missed fast.
